Using Your Voice: Tom Clancy’s Endwar

I downloaded the demo of a game I have been wanting to try for some time now. The game, "Tom Clancy's Endwar" is an RTS based around the third and final world war occurring some time near 2020. I believe although the game is simple compared to more traditional RTS games, such as the "Command and Conquer" series, but brings a unique tool of voice control to the RTS on console category.

Due to the differences in PC gaming and console gaming and the complexity of any RTS, the PC has always been the favorite medium for this type of game. The shortcuts available with a full keyboard make most RTS games much more enjoyable on the PC. With the unique feature of voice control included with Endwar, the efficiency of RTS gaming on the PC can now also be found on the console.

At first I had some speculation with the voice control. In the past with such games as SOCOM on PS2, the voice control was sensitive and not always responsive. But much to my surprise, the technology has greatly improved. I was easily able to control the entire battlefield with only my voice.

My next step is to purchase the game and then proceed from there on any further review.
